Lovecraft Investigations: The Call of Cthulhu

By "popular" demand, I'm adding a physical version of the Cthulhu Case File as an add-on for people on the Cultist, Historian and Adventurer tiers (those in the tiers above already have it included).

The case file is a manilla folder, containing facsimiles of all pertinent documents uncovered during the Call of Cthulhu investigation. It's going to be a fun thing to reference as you listen to the show. I'm limiting the number because I'm going to be creating and producing these folders myself, and there's only so many I can reasonably assemble before I have to make a sanity roll.

The case file is available now, priced at £25. It's a genuinely home-made item that will have been assembled by either me, Kennedy Fisher, or the creepy kid from the Babalon number station. 

This is one I'm really excited about. Paying subscribers to the Pleasant Green website will already be aware of the Saltmarsh and De Kliek investigations. Plenty of elements within these stories tie in or tee-up aspects of the forthcoming season. I presented them online in a form that best fitted that medium, but now I am going to substantially revise, rewrite (and in the case of De Kliek, FINISH!) those accounts and present them in book form.

SALTMARSH - This investigation was undertaken by Kennedy following the events of The Shadow Over Innsmouth. A mysterious death in Paris leads to a village on the Thames Estuary that may not really exist.

DE KLIEK - Following on from the end of The Haunter of the Dark, Matthew and Kennedy stumble onto the strange death of Arthur Jermyn and find themselves, at Parker's urging, investigating a sinister European organisation that just might be behind everything that has happened so far. 

This will be a single paperback novel, containing both stories (with additional endnotes). The cover has been designed by our friend Carl Pugh to resemble something you might have found on the spinner of your local newsagents in the 1970s or 80s. 

We're offering an ebook format (EPUB) at £5.99 and a physical paperback at £9.99. If you buy the paperback, we will also throw in an ebook copy for free.

These books will be available to buy from the Village Shop once the new season is released, but the Backerkit price we're offering now will be a little lower than the eventual retail price. 

I'm excited, not only to present these stories in a new way, but also for readers to experience how elements of both of those investigations feed into The Call of Cthulhu.

Something I've been thinking about since day one of this campaign...

The response you've all had to The Call of Cthulhu has been extraordinary. Because of you, the cast and crew are already being paid above their standard rates. Audio fiction is not a well-paid arena, so that matters to me enormously, and it's directly because of this community.

A few of you have asked whether there's a way to add something more personal: a direct thank-you to the actors, the sound designer, the production team who are going to make this thing. So I've set up a way to do exactly that.

It's simple. A £10 donation add-on, and you can add as many units as you like. Every pound goes into a dedicated cast and crew bonus pot, held separately from the main campaign finances (so that it isn't subject to VAT etc) and distributed at the end of production. There's no reward attached, because it isn't a purchase: it's a thank-you.

We just hit the stretch for the CD upgrade, which means that everyone who has ordered a CD set, or will order one, now gets a really nice hardback media book containing... I don't know, stuff, and the CDs contained within, in pockets. I'd love to show you a picture, but superstition prevented me from mocking one up.
