Well I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. I dream about pledge tiers and add-ons, and I wake up panicking that I have forgotten to account for VAT on something, or that the quote for the book printing was wrong...
But we're doing pretty damn well, aren't we? And i don't just mean raising the money, I mean this community - what a really nice bunch of enthusiastic, engaged people you are. And you're not just nice to me, you're nice to each other. Watching people help others out answering questions and giving advice when I'm not around is really heartening. I have no idea what drew such a pleasant bunch to the darker corners of the genre, but I guess there's some truth in the idea that horror (if we are indeed a horror show) lets people confront and deal with unpleasant ideas, as a kind of catharsis. I bet rom-com fans are monsters.
At the same time as being ringmaster here, I am also deep in fulfilment for Crowley (Wow, CD packaging is a lot more complicated than you think it's going to be!) and this weekend I am excited to sit down and watch two hours of videos on EU Safety Compliance and Registration (catch it in IMAX if you can).
This is probably a cruel place to mention this, but those who ordered the Department of Works Field Kit during the Crowley campaign are in for quite a treat - these pin-badges arrived today, from the always-excellent Made by Cooper:
And the answer to your next question is no. Sorry, but some things have to be special and these are only going to be in those Field Kits. There will be equally good stuff happening with the Pendragon Members Pack in this campaign. And that is a lot of the fun of these things, putting these boxes of goodies together, figuring out strange and surprising things to put in, and getting to know the members of this community well enough to have a handle on what will make them smile.
Like printed matter. We're an audio show (you knew this), so it was actually quite surprising to me how many people have gone for the Collector's Edition script books in this campaign, and then how fast the Red Hook Stories book sold (definitely have to do more of those in the future!), and then how popular the physical edition of the Cthulhu Case File has turned out to be. It shouldn't be that much of a surprise, as these are exactly the things I would have gone for myself, but it's great that this is the stuff that people want.
I'm going to lean in to print more in the future. We already have plans in place for a Pleasant Green coffee-table book, which will dive deep behind the scenes of everything from Fragments up to the present day, with gorgeous art work, interviews, photos, documents etc etc. And the Red Hook stories thing has got me toying wit the idea of a proper Pleasant Green novel - probably not the Lovecraft Investigations, because that has found its medium (and I don't really want to be the Alan Dean Foster of my own universe), but a story, or a series of stories (steady on) set in-world. I'm pondering this as I write...
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone, again, both for your financial generosity, but also your generosity of spirit. Hanging out with this community is a pleasure and an honour.
